Interact with Jibble by using the Jibble Bot (Slack & Microsoft Teams) or by using /jibble slash commands (Slack only).

Here's a full list with more details below.

  • in - start recording time

  • out - stop recording time

  • all - see who's working

  • times - check your weekly timesheets

  • log - check your daily logs/timesheets

  • acts - list activities/projects that you can record time against (if power-up enabled)

  • clients - list clients that you can record time against (if power-up enabled)

  • alerts - get emails or Slack/MS Teams notifications

  • help - summary of help (this article within Slack/MS Teams)

  • contact - send the Jibble support team a help request or feedback

  • invite - invite specific team members or invite them all at once

  • join - join an existing team

in

Time starts recording when you jibble in to the @jibble bot:

in

or the slash command (Slack)

/jibble in

It's as simple as that! But the command is extended if you have Activity Tracking and Client Billing enabled.

So when using the @jibble bot only you will be taken through a conversation so you can choose: -

  • An activity/project (if applicable)

  • A client (if applicable)

  • Any notes/tasks

You can also use the command filters so you don't need to go through the whole conversation every time. So if you frequently jibble in for a specific activity or project/client combination then you can use something like:

in 1 2 some task name goes here

This would Jibble In the user to the 1st activity in the activity list and 2nd client in the client list with "some task name goes here" recorded against the Jibble In.

Another useful shortcut is:

in last

This would use the last jibble in command used. An easy way of continuing on from where you left off.

To transfer to another activity, simply jibble in to the new activity.

Synonyms: jibblein, clockin, checkin, punchin can be used for the same command

out

Time stops recording when you jibble out to the @jibble bot:

out

or the slash command (Slack):

/jibble out

You can also add some notes to a jibble out. For example you could explain why you worked so hard and late into the night :)

out some notes when jibbling out

IMPORTANT: you don't need to jibble out then jibble in to transfer to another activity. Simply jibble in to the new activity and time will stop on the previous activity

Synonyms: jibbleout, clockout, checkout, punchout can be used for the same command

all

To check who's working and on what use the command all

You can use the filters in or out too. Quite useful if you have a large team and want to focus on seeing what everyone is working on only. For example:

all in

Synonyms: people and status can be used for the same command

times

View your daily timesheet totals for the current week using the command times

You can also use a filter with this command (i.e. a negative number). For example: -1 to see the previous week or -2 for...you guessed it 2 weeks ago.

If you're admin you can see your team members times too using their username as a filter, and even a relative week.

times @tony -1

The above example would list the weekly timesheet for @tony for the previous week.

Synonyms: timesheets can be used for the same command

log

Get a list of all your jibble in and out entries for the day along with the total time with the command log

You can also use a filter with this command too (i.e. a negative number). -3 would be 3 days ago

If you're admin you can see your team members daily logs too using their username as a filter, and even a relative day.

log @tony -3

The above example, typed into the @jibble bot, would list the daily entries for @tony from 3 days ago

acts

Activities (or acts for short) could easily be projects too. If the Activity Tracking power-up is enabled from app.jibble.io then you can record time against an activity or project. The command acts is provided for your convenience as it outputs a numbered activities list that you can use as part of the in command. You can jibble in against an activity over a @jibble bot conversation or by using the in command shortcuts.

You can also get personal times spent on activities by using the time and day | week | month filter.

acts time week -1

In the above example the time recorded against your activities will be listed for the previous week

Synonyms: activities, projects and tasks can be used for the same command

clients

If the Client Billing power-up is enabled from app.jibble.io then you can record time of an activity (project) against one of your clients. The command clients is provided for your convenience as it outputs a numbered clients list that you can use as part of the in command. You can jibble in against a client over a @jibble bot conversation or by using the in command shortcuts.

You can also get personal times spent on clients by using the time and day | week | month filter.

clients time month

In the above example the time recorded against your clients will be listed for the current month

alerts

Alerts (i.e. notifications), allow you to manage your subscriptions. This is limited to the daily logs sent via Slack/MS Teams or Email. Other alerts received by the admin can be configured from the web app: Settings > Alerts.

The daily logs are sent based on usage, so if you Jibble via Slack/MS Teams you'll get the alert via the same channel and if you Jibble via the web app then you'll get your daily log via email.

Synonyms: notifications can be used for the same command

help

This command lists out a quick help guide and if you need to contact support for further help you can use the contact command.

Synonyms: info and ? can be used for the same command

contact

For issues, feedback or to contact us for anything else use the command contact. Your request will go straight to our support inbox.

Synonyms: feedback can be used for the same command.

invite

You can invite existing team members with the @jibble bot:

invite

or the slash command (Slack)

/invite

You can invite specific team members selecting their username,

invite @tony

Or invite them all at once:

invite all

The users will automatically receive an invitation to join Jibble.

join

Team members who can see the Jibble Bot can request to join the team through the join command:

join

The team admin will receive a notification with the Join request.
